Hearts of Oak captain credits Coach Samuel Boadu for successful season

Captain for Ghana Premier League (GPL) 2020-21 and MTN FA Cup winners Accra Hearts of Oak, Fatawu Mohammed has indicated that it is ideal fact to say that Coach Samuel Boadu has contributed immensely to the club’s success for the season.

Hearts of Oak completed the domestic double winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) and the MTN FA Cup.

In an interview with Edmund Osafo Addo on RoyalSports, skipper for the Rainbow Boys was full of praise for his Coach, who took charge of the club in the middle of the season to lift its first trophy since 2009.

Fatawu noted that his relationship with the players and management had brought unity among the team.

‘’He is strict and committed to his role, he is friendly and a brother to the playing body and management but does not joke at all when it comes to work’’

‘’It is ideal to say that Coach Samuel Boadu’s stint at the club in the middle of the season contributed greatly to Hearts of Oak’s season success’’

The longest serving player becomes the first captain to win both the GPL and FA Cup for in the last 21 years.

Accra Hearts of Oak first won the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) trophy their first major title since 2008/09 , 21st GPL title after 12 years.

The Phobians made a second domestic cup victory after defeating Ashanti Gold SC 8-7 on penalties to win the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.

The Rainbow Club have now achieved the double for an unprecedented 6th time; 1973,1979, 1989/90, 1999, 2000, 2020/21.

The victory means the 2000 CAF Champions League winner will be making a return to Africa’s most prestigious club competition for the first time in a decade.
