Former Asante Kotoko defender, Edwin Tuffuor Frimpong Manso has indicated that internal troubles at the club which still persists affects everyone – Management, staff, playing body and hence the need for quick resolution to see the club back to its glory days.
’’My expectations before I joined Kotoko was alright but that was with the supporters and the fans…. they were very welcoming’’
’’But off-field and internal issues continue to engulf the team from top to the very last and these many problems I must say affect everybody in the team, hindering the development and progress of the club’’ he said in an exclusive interview on SilverFM’s SportsCenter.
He urged the club to come together as a team to find common grounds to be successive in the upcoming 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, which kick starts in October.
In his view, the GPL is very competitive as compared his current Ethiopian top-flight with giants St George SA.
Frimpong, son of Asante Kotoko legend Frimpong Manso joined Asante Kotoko from Liberty Professionals in the 2015/16 league season but saw his contract terminated in the final of his three-season deal with the club after deeming surplus to requirement under Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin in 2018.
He moved to St George SA a two-year deal which was expected to expire at the end of June 2020 but the 27-year-old will stay with the Addis Ababa based side for another 1 year after impressing the club and extending his contract for two seasons last year.
