Uncultured contents on some Media space contributing highly to recent ritual killings – Retired Lecturer

A retired lecturer of Ghana Technology University College, Accra, Nana Osei Piesie Antoh has opined that indecorous contents in the media space especially on televisions has influenced most desperate youths in the country to engage in crime activities for quick money.

Professor Antoh sharing his thoughts on the recent dastardly acts in the country on Silver FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show stressed that, ” Most of our youths have no decent jobs and because of that they are easily lured by these fake spiritualist and end up killing innocent souls”

“The government must create more jobs for the youths to avert the saying, Satan gives work to the lazy hand”, he told Nana Ampratwum on the show.

He believes that fake prophets, ‘Mallams’ etc. whose trade is to induce people to come for money contributes greatly to these crimes.

Nana Osei Piesie Antoh, the Chief elect for Krom-Adwafo in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region charged the authorities to ban those people from the airwaves.

According to the Professor, ritual murders have become rampant and a very profitable venture as more and more people are engaging in it.

However a security analyst, Professor Kwesi Aning has predicted that the rate of crime in the country will get worse by the day. His comments follow recent reports of robberies and murders across the country.

“We are unwilling and unprepared to deal with those who commit crime, especially if they are connected to power. Crime has become such a profitable venture in this country. Violence has become a currency with which those who are more violent have a much higher stand in society. We are going to see more of these”, the Security Analyst stressed.
