Former Black Stars legend, Frimpong Manso has opined that the national team must open up doors for highly talented domestic and international players as the Black Stars prepare for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar.

The Black Stars lost to South Africa in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group G qualifier at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg on Monday.

Striker BongoKuhle Hlongwane scored in the 83rd minute to beat the Black Stars – their first since August 2010. The win takes South Africa to the top of the table with 4 points from two matches in the on-going qualifiers.

Manso in an interview with Edmund Osafo Addo on SportsCenter indicatedthat the national team must give high quality and talented players an opportunity to share their experiences and shun relying on old legs.

Coach Frimpong Manso urged the local players who had the opportunity to participate in this highly competitive playing platform to make statements to earn more call ups in future.

The Black Stars have chance to advance to the next phase and will next play Zimbabwe in back to back games in November 2021.
