Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have announced appointment of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum as the Club’s new head coach.
The Sports Psychologist and University Lecturer joins the Kumasi – based side from West African Football Academy (WAFA) on a two-year deal. He replaces Portuguese trainer, Mariano Barreto whose contract was mutually terminated following an unimpressive outing in the 2020/21 football season.
A statement on the official website of the Club read: ”Dr. Nartey represents a new generation of coaches. Despite his young age , he already has an impressive CV”
”The Club is convinced that with him , we can continue the magnificent strides we made last season”
Dr. Nartey guarded WAFA in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) as they placed third with 56 points.
He has also handled GPL clubs like Ebusua Dwarfs, Elmina Sharks and Karela United. He also coached the University of Cape Coast soccer team.
