NDC’s Ama Benyiwa-Doe passes on
Former Central Regional Minster under the Mills government, Ama Benyiwa Doe has died at the age of 71years.
The NDC stalwart and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa West died at Tema Maritime Hospital on Sunday, September 19, according to Central Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Kwesi Dawood.
The outspoken politician served as National Democratic Congress MP from 1992 to 2004 and Central Regional Minister from 2009 to 2012.
She was also a former member of the Council of State under the Mahama administration.
She also served as the National Women’s Organizer of the NDC.
The Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama, who led the NDC in the recent past Presidential election sent a message of condolence.
President Akufo Addo also penned a word to the bereaved family.
