Lack of classroom block forces pupils to study in church

The backbone of a nation , Education , is good but can be really bad and unproductive when facilities and infrastructures needed to enhance learning are inadequate.

The government of Ghana took some bold steps through the implementation of flagship Free-SHS, the Double Track System to enable various senior high schools to take in more students and ensure that all students have access to a senior high school education.

But some parts of the country mainly the rural areas pass through unbearable circumstances to enjoy this cake as some students still study under trees, sit on blocks, bare floor at the mercy of the sun’s energy.

One of such communities is KABILE in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region.

The Assembly Member of the area, Hon. Samuel Sie in an interview with SilverNews’ Bimark revealed that, pupils of Kabile Presbyterian Primary school especially the kindergarten basic school level have to resort to having classes in the church due to lack of classroom blocks.

He said the church auditorium has now become classroom for these students and their teachers.

Hon. Sie appealed to government and called on the Member of Parliamen for Jaman North Constituency, Hon. Yaw Ahenkwa Fredrick to take up the matter to the Central government.
