A/R: Passengers burnt to death in a gory accident at Akomadan
Another accident has occurred in the Ashanti Region after a similar accident on Monday that claimed 17 lives and injured at least 15 people.
At least some 10 passengers were burnt to death in a bus carrying 35 passengers from Lawra-Nandom in the Upper East Region to Kumasi.
The ghastly accident occurred at the Akomadan area of the stretch in the Ashanti Region near the police check point on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
An eye-witness Issa who spoke to Nana Ampratwum on SilverFM’s Morning Show indicated that the latest incident happened in the early dawn of Tuesday involving an E.S Tour Bus and a KIA truck.
”The bus carrying passengers was involved in a head-on-collision with a KIA Rhino truck and caught fire instantly after it crashed into the either stationary or moving truck which we are yet to confirm upon reaching Akomadan in the Ashanti Region”.
”The passengers in total according to my checks were about 35 and we were able to save a number of them but some of the passengers caught in the fire were burnt to death … we are yet to confirm the total number of deaths from the Fire Service rescuers”
”As a reporter I can count about 25 passengers who were moved from the bus to safety whiles some 10 passengers were burnt to death”
He confirmed that death toll is likely to increase as officials indicate some 25 passengers are currently receiving treatment at the AME Zion Hospital at Akumadan, Afrancho in the Ashanti Region.
