Hearts of Oak held by Aduana as winless run continues

Accra Hearts of Oak failed to record their first win in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Aduana Stars on Sunday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians winless run extends to three after Sunday loss.

Kofi Kordzi gave the hosts an early start as he latched on Barnieh assist off aduana defender to clip the ball beyond the reach of Joseph Addo to put Hearts ahead finishing clinically on 10 minutes.

Aduana Stars came close in the last minute before the break but Richard Baidoo ended the first half with a save.

The Rainbow lads headed into the dressing room at the break with a goal lead hoping to end their wait for a win.

The fire boys came into the second half strong and this yielded the needed results as Referee Morrison whistled for a penalty against Hearts of oak after Alhassan was seen to have fouled and Aduana player from taking a shot.

Aduana Stars levelled through an effort from Bright Adjei from the spot in the 79 minute.

Hearts of Oak are still unbeaten but not the desired result as the draw makes it three winless run in the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League (GPL) .

The phobians travel to Obuasi on Friday to play next Ashanti Gold SC, hoping to secure a first win in the GPL.
