BET Foundation donates Mathematical Sets to BECE candidates in Bohyen Islamic School

BET Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), on Tuesday donated Mathematical Sets to all registered 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in to Bohyen Islamic School in the Bantama constituency of the Ashanti Region.

Bohyen Islamic School has a total number of 42 registered candidates for 2021 Basic Education certificate examination (BECE).

Presentation of the Mathematical Sets and drawing Board for the candidates was done at the examination centre with delegation from the foundation and the assembly member of the area.

Presenting the item to the candidates, chief of Bissa and executive director of the foundation Halid Abdul Wahab recounted his experience during his time when he sat in for the BECE and this motivated the foundation to embark on this generous gesture.

According to him, during his time, only few them has access to mathematical set and it resulted in an awful experience where it was explicitly stated as part of the examination’s rules and regulations that there should be no exchange of items among students.

He said, the donation of Mathematical Sets and the drawing Board became necessary looking at the current health dangers associated with sharing of items and body contacts as a result of COVID-19 and examination rules and regulations.

Due to this, BET Foundation deemed it fit to come to the aid of all BECE 2022 candidates in the Bohyen Islamic School with this important instrument needed for the examination.”

Receiving the items, on behalf of the school the headmaster Mr Abubakari Adams expressed their profound appreciation for the wonderful intervention of the NGO.

According to Mr. Adams, “mathematical sets is one of the great instrument students need when it comes to mathematics. It is very prudent for every basic school student to own a mathematical set and learn how to use it even before their final exams. It is rather unfortunate that most of our students can’t afford this instrument.”
He also stated that this has really come at the right time and will serve a very good purpose.

On behalf of the 2021 BECE Candidates, one of the students sent forth their gratitude. “We are very grateful to BET Foundation, May God bless their work.” She added “It’s not all of us who can afford to buy a math set, personally I don’t have one and I know most of my mates too don’t have it.”

She then assured the good performance in appreciation to the mathematical sets they have received.

Notably, this is not the first donation exercise BET Foundation has embarked on, they have constructed two story building which is yet to be commissioned.

In his final words, Mr. Adams Abubakari, promised the candidate(s) who will get the best results but must fall within single digit to get a laptop.
