2023 AFCON Qualifiers :Black Stars held by CAR in Luanda

The Black Stars of Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw game on Sunday in their second match in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers against the Central African Republic in Estádio 11 de Novembro in Lunada, Angola.
The Stars won by 3-0 in their opening game against Madagascar at the Cape Coast stadium last Wednesday but they could not maintain their 100% record in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers as they were held 1-1 in Luanda.
The Central African Republic hosted Ghana in Angola because their stadia have been deemed unfit to stage matches in their country.
The four times African champions were hoping to make it two wins in two games in the qualifying series.
In-form attacking midfielder, Mohammed Kudus opened scoring for the visitors in the 17th-minute to give Ghana the perfect lead.
Les Fauves, who were beaten 2-1 by Angola prooved that they were no easy pushovers as they responded with an outstanding equalizer through Karl Namnganda just before the break to bring the Central African Republic to parity.
Ghana will however travel to Japan for the Kirin Cup tournament, which begins on Friday, June 10, 2022.
