Ghana maintained their position in the latest FIFA Coca Cola rankings released on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
The Black Stars placed 60th globally and are 11th on the continent, making them the least ranked nation ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana’s recent performance against Madagascar in their opening AFCON qualifier in Ghana where they recorded a 3-0 win , before they were held by lowly Central African Republic in the second game, saw the four-time African champions cement their 60th position in the rankings.
Ghana also participated in the just-ended Kirin Challenge, where Tunisia came out as winners.
They recovered from a semi-final 4-1 defeat against Japan to upset Chile 3-1 on penalties at the Panasonic Stadium in Suita – Osaka to clinch the third spot.
Ghana, Tunisia and Japan are using the tournament to prepare for the World Cup, which kicks off in Qatar in November.
They will play next in an international assignment in September.
