The Ministry of Education has refuted claims that the Ghana Education Service(GES) is reviewing the government’s flagship Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
According to the Ministry its attention has been drawn to some publications making the rounds which suggest an ongoing review of the Free SHS policy by the GES.
Purported reports suggested that the Director – General of GES , Prof Akwasi Poku Amankwah had disclosed that government is currently reviewing the Free SHS policy.
Ministry of Education’s Deputy Spokesperson, Yaw Opoku Mensah has disclosed in an exclusive interview that the purported review is to determine how much parents can pay so far as the policy is concerned and not as circulated in some media circles.
He insisted that for purposes of clarity, the Free SHS policy is not under purported review.
