Sad news reaching SilverNEWS on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 indicate that, at least some six persons have lost their lives in a gory accident involving a school bus and a Ford mini bus.
The incident happened at Abuakwa-Maakro in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
According to the eye witness , the Ford with registration number GS 3600-12 with passengers onboard, which was heading towards Kumasi from Nerebehi had a brake failure , crashing with the Martyrs of Uganda Preparatory School Bus with registration number GW 5810-16, which upon seeing the Ford managed to save the situation but unfortunately could not.
Two passengers of the Ford died on the spot after the collision.
Scores of passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Abuakwa Poly Clinic where four other passengers died upon arrival.
The death toll now stands at Six(6) including a 13 year old conductor locally called ‘Mate’ of the Ford mini bus.
The remaining passengers are receiving treatment at the Abuakwa Poly Clinic.
No student died in the accident.
