2022 Commonwealth Games: Wahid Omar secures bronze medal for Ghana

Wahid Omar lost his semi-final bout to Mauritius boxer Louis Colin and therefore settles for a bronze medal in over 60kg-63kg Lt welterweight.

The 28-year-old Ghanaian boxer lost the bout [0-5] in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The Mauritius was evasive and smart in the fight as he never stood toe to toe with Wahid who now has two bronze medals after Glasgow 2014. He was at the Olympic Games in 2016 and last Commonwealth Games in Australia in 2018.

In other bout, Ghana’s Abraham Mensah and Joseph Commey won Silver medal.

Abraham Mensah lost 5-0 at the finals of the Bantamweight finals against Dylan Eagleson whiles Joseph Commey who was scheduled to fight in the featherweight finals was reported ill and could not fight.
