Haaland, Foden net hat-tricks as Man City rout Man Utd 6-3 in derby
Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks as Man City smashed six goals past Man Utd in the Manchester derby at the Etihad.
United came into this game in good form having won four games in a row in the Premier League. But they were torn to shreds by City in the derby.
Pep Guardiola’s men were on the front foot from the opening minute and it took them less than ten minutes to go ahead. Foden nestled a smart one-touch finish in the top corner.
City remained 1-0 ahead until Haaland doubled their advantage with a header from a corner in the 34th minute.
Haaland turned on the style before the break. He converted Kevin De Bruyne’s cross before he played in Foden to make it 4-0.
Antony continued his fine start at United in the 56th minute as he netted from distance to make it 4-1.
This seemed to drive City on even more though as Haaland and Foden scored within the space of nine minutes to complete their hat-tricks by the 73rd minute.
