betPawa PL: FC Samartex hold Medeama,Hearts of Oak suffer another defeat
FC Samartex put up a spirited performance to draw 0-0 with leaders Medeama SC at Nana
Nsenkyire Park on Sunday.
The home team started the match looking to unsettle the visitors but their effort came to nought as
Medeama took over affairs after the half hour mark.
Medeama SC were the better side in the second half as they committed men forward in search of a
breakthrough. However, Samartex remained resolute at the back, frustrating Medeama’s attacking
intentions.
The score remained 0-0 at full time leaving Medeama SC very close to their first league triumph.
Medeama will play Tamale City on the final match of the season at Akoon Park in Tarkwa Sunday.
In Accra – Former champions Accra Hearts of Oak lost yet again at the Accra Sports stadium. The
Phobians who are in a very poor form threw away a first half lead to lose 2-1 to Real Tamale United.
Linda Mtange scored the opener inside 35 minutes but Abdul Manaf Umar drew the visitors level in
the 46th minute before Stephen Badu Dankwah scored the winning goal in the 80th minute.
At the theatre of Dreams – Dawu, Richard Amoah, Francis Andy Kumi and Tahir Mensah scored four
goals in either half to beat Tamale City 4-1 at home.
Elsewhere at Fosu Gyeabuor Park – Bechem United cruised to a 2-0 win against Berekum Chelsea.
Joseph Kinful opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Cephas Mantey added to the tally in the
89th minute to close the points for the host. The win takes them to the second spot with 54 pointsthree points behind leaders Medeama SC.
At Nsoatre – Samuel Ofori scored two quick fire goals in two minutes to give Nsoatreman FC a 2-1
win at home. After a barren first half, Samuel Ofori scored the first goal in the 56th minute and
added the second goal two minutes later with an instinctive finish. Kelvin Obeng later pulled one
back for Aduana FC in the 66th minute to make it 2-1.
Finally, Evans Adomako netted a brace for Karela United in a 3-2 win against Bibiani Gold Stars.
Adomako opened the scoring in the 41st minute and added the second goal seven minute later
before George Amoono added the third goal. League top scorer Abednego Tetteh fired two goals in
the 60th and 78th minutes but the goals were not enough to rescue a point for the miners as Karela
United held on to win 3-2.
Earlier on Saturday, Sarfo Taylor scored the winner for champions Asante Kotoko in a 1-0 win over
Accra Lions at the Accra Sports stadium.
Meanwhile King Faisal recorded a 3-1 win against Legon Cities at the Dr. Kwame Kyei sports
stadium. Abdul Latif netted a 23rd minute penalty and added the second goal in the 69th minute.
Ebenezer Armegah pulled one back for Legon Cities but Baba Yahaya put the icing on the cake in
the 79th minute to win the day for King Faisal.
Dreams FC defeated Accra Great Olympics 2-1 at the theatre of Dreams on Saturday. Godfred
Atuahene put the still Believe lads in the lead with an amazing finish inside 53 minutes but Solomon Adomako drew level but Ali Huzaif late goal shot Dreams FC into the lead with 8 minutes to end proceeedings.
